Hi, I'm Kate.

I work at the intersection of tech, privacy, art, and organizing.

Bringing a scrappy background in nonprofit to mission-driven tech projects, I have a deep passion for bringing people from different areas of expertise together to build for a better future. Currently I'm running a digital security fund for autonomy and democracy movement organizations.

In my free time I engage on a variety of multidisciplinary civic tech projects as a project manager, volunteer, activist, and artist. I’m especially interested in ways that artistic methods can interrogate use of AI-driven computer vision, other analytical technologies in surveillance, and related intersections with our civil liberties. Recently, I’ve been exploring the growth of surveillance industries in rural areas, and how our diverse relationships to public lands informs policymaking around public vs private records, spaces, and rights.

I can often be found conducting independent computer vision research, building local scientific community, hacking, and fundraising for abortion access.
